Information for students

 

In general STEP-traineeships are paid. The salary will usually be as high as the average living costs, so that you need not to cope with financing.
Moreover you will get personal assistance up from the application until the end of the traineeship itself. Questions referring to the application will be answered unhesitatingly by your VP STEP. Once abroad you will be warmly welcomed by the STEPer in ELSA-group offering the traineeship. He will support you to find a feasable accomodation, will invite you to ELSA-Events etc., in order to make you feel comfortable and integrated. You will have an amazing social life.

 

Taking part in the STEP programme does not cost you a penny. It is totally for free. Only your costs for travelling and accomodation have tobe paid by yourself. In general your traineeship, however, will be paid so that you can cover these costs out of the traineeship itself.

 

You need to become a member of ELSA Republic of Macedonia. You can apply for a traineeship the same day when you become a member.

How to complete the online STEP application?

You apply by filling in the official STEP Student application form, and you give all your certificates for your academic and work experience for valuation in ELSA Republic of Macedonia. If you have some questions you can contact your VP STEP for help.

The traineeship exchange programme run by ELSA entitles you to employ trainees of highest standard whilst differing from other companies. You gain access to committed and motivated students, legal apprentices or young lawyers out of 36 countries.

Participating in STEP is the easiest and most efficient way for you to employ a foreign young lawyer and to let cultural exchange happen. Before and during the traineeship ELSA disburdens you by supporting the young lawyers in receiving the employment permit or if necessary the visa. Your benefits can shape in various ways – clients’ care due to decreasing of language barriers, support in important projects of international dimension or even estimating whether a mandate seems profitable in respect of the foreign law involved. This is just a short list of possibilities. The definite value will be set by you due to the assignments given to the trainee.
