  ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

STEP S&C AA

The Academic Activities sector in ELSA is very important one, because we try to develop and to deepen the students’ knowledge about the law and the legal system through the unconventional and informal lectures and debates.
We are oriented towards an extensive legal research and an inspiring methods of law practice.
The academic activities are very effective tool for bridging the gap between the legal theory and the legal practice. The students very seldom have the opportunity to expand their knowledge in the field of law, outside the school benches. Therefore, ELSA’s academic activities sector provides them with the “missing link” they need! J
We also have plans for organizing legal clinics – opportunity for the students of law to apply the knowledge gained into real practice.

This last year we have organized several events, such as:

  • Legal Research Group (topic: Human Rights) – ongoing project in which you can easily join in by sending an e-mail to: vpaa_elsa_rm@yahoo.com;
  • Lecture on the issue of: “International Humanitarian Law”, held at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” (29th May 2007) and supported by OSCE Spillover Mission in Skopje & the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC);
  • Training for practical legal advice “Law 4 U” (in association & co-organisation with AEGEE Skopje), held at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” (17-18 February 2007) and many more…

The academic activities sector also enables the law students to make their own contribution to the international ELSA publications, such as:

  • ELSA Selected Papers on European Law (ELSA SPEL)

ELSA Selected Papers on European Law (ELSA SPEL) periodically provides a compilation of legal papers in the field of Private and Public European Law. ELSA SPEL is published twice a year on this website to provide an international readership with a source of literature that rarely finds its way to the regular legal periodicals: High quality papers written by students in the scope of their legal courses as well as academics. ELSA SPEL contributes to legal education as students throughout Europe are offered an incentive to enhance increasingly important academic and language skills.

  • Synergy

    Synergy has been the International Members' Magazine since 1987. It is a high-profile, high-quality publication, regularly informing ELSA members on topics of interest to them and to the association. In Synergy, ELSA members have an opportunity to publish articles, promote events and share experiences. Furthermore, the magazine gives ELSA International a chance to communicate important projects and developments in ELSA to the entire network.
    ELSA International produces the magazine twice a year. It is distributed to all the 200 local groups, across the 36 countries in Europe where ELSA is represented.

As a member of ELSA Republic of Macedonia, the students can also be part of the National and International Moot Court competitions. For more information on the moot court section, contact our Director for Moot Court: dirmc2_elsa_rm@yahoo.com or vpaa_elsa_rm@yahoo.com.
